Why do you offer worthless crap that doesn't offer any value to us?
U guys need a backup goalie when dell leaves. You guys could save 4 million dollars of cap with this trade. Instead of criticizing what people say , why don't u try to put logic into a trade proposal?

What is the Sharks D-situation like minus Martin?

This is a long shot, but could this be the first domino to drop in a Martin for Phaneuf deal?

If the Sharks buyout Martin next season, they face a cap penalty of 2M then 1.4M. Weighed against Phaneuf's contract that would bring Phaneuf's cap hit down to 5/5.6/7 for the last three years of his deal.

Keep in mind, the cap is expected to raise to 80M+ during that time. It could be as high as 85M during the third remaining year.

Phaneuf apparently was talked about with LA, so if LA was on his trade list, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume San Jose would be as well since they are both in California.

It would make sense for the Sharks to waive Paul Martin prior to making that kind of deal in order to see if someone will take Martin for free.

We can manage fine without your offer. You consistently make nonsensical offers. It's easy to criticize.

This doesn't sell PM very well:

Brent Burns affect. IMO this is one of those instances where pundits relying on stats and ignoring context have come to a very wrong conclussion. If, and at this point it seems to be a legit "if", Martin is healthy and back to his pre-injury form he is a 4/5 and has value. The notion he was a sub-NHL caliber player prior to his injury is flat out stupid.

Toronto area
I'm not sure he is, though.
He's waived anyway, so if Toronto wanted him they could just claim him and waive Polak but I doubt it will happen.
Not sure Toronto can add that much cap all at once.

Toronto would probably have to wait until Martin cleared and then trade Eric Fehr (AHL $2.0M) for Paul Martin. That way San Jose eats $2 million of the Paul Martin cap space, for this season anyways, and Toronto pays the rest. Next season Fehr is UFA and Toronto pays Martin.
