Always hard to gauge... depends if the teams want to rebuild, among those I wonder if the following would be available (MTL would have to add picks for most of them but I feel like Byron/Lekhonen could be used in the context of the trade):

Cam Fowler (if ANA rebuilds)
Gostisbehere (if PHI decides that they do not need him based on the new players incoming)
Vlasic (cap reasons)
Murray (CBJ needs offensive depth)
Gustafson (apparently CHI fans want to move him for a while)
Toews (D): heard he is good but never saw him play, would NYI trade him ?

What is happening to H. Fleury in CAR by the way ?

Flyers don't need Byron over Ghost. Easy no.

Lindblom Couts Konecny
Giroux Hayes Voracek
JVR Patrick Farabee

Frost on the verge(4 pts his last 2 games in AHL). Rubstov PPG in AHL. Flyers just need health and continued development.

Why that ? I did not say 1 for 1, I mentioned MTL would need to add pick(s) to Byron to get a good puck moving D-man and listed some teams which may have interest in Byron from my POV and which may be willing to trade a D-man ? You can answer why you disagree but at least explain why.

Thank you for your answer, I actually thought he could be an improvement on the thrid line but you know the flyers better than I do, and I thought that with Morin coming up, Gotisbehere would be traded. In your opinion, assuming you would try to gauge the relative value Ghos-Byron, what kind of pick would you expect to add to Byron, a 2nd (a 1st seems a bit rich right ?)?

There is no pick because Byron isn't a need. He isn't better than JVR and Farabee is projected to be better and needs to play. Then we have Frost on the way too. It just doesn't make sense in a deal to trade away Ghost at this time at all...let alone for Morin. Hagg is the Dman who should be moved, with Myers replacing him...and Morin staying as the #7 Dman playing when injuries occur.

Once Patrick becomes healthy and Frost/Myers come up, the Flyers could put together a very good team giving matchup problems to other teams. Time and health is what the Flyers need.

how is a 7 games no points and slow as molasse JVR better ? JVR playstyle is done in this league.

If Byron goes it’s for futures (draft picks mostly) or as a cap relief/replacement in a bigger trade (to move money and add a bit of value).

Don’t/can’t see a 1 for 1 trade here.

most likely scenario: a second + third round pick to a team that needs depth and speed

So ignore his 60 point pace last year? And his 35 SOG this year when 2nd best is 24 for the Flyers? Is 8th in the league for SOG for forwards in the league.

Almost like he is on a bad run of bad luck. Naw...can't be that.

Oh look...his PDO is currently the lowest it's been for his career all while his CF% is at 60%

yeah...it's bad luck, not decline. But carry on like you know something.

I'm sorry but I feel like almost all of them are not rational expectations for a Byron/Lekhonen trade, even with picks.

Not many teams would take that salary without giving any salary back in return.

Well, Islanders offer Leddy for Domi as a base, how would you think about that?

Not sure what you are saying.

The Flyers have allowed the lowest shots against per game all while being 3rd in shots for. That will lead to wins over time because yes, they HAVE been unlucky. And over time, things even out. JVR will not shoot 0% all year....or do you think he will? Last 7 years, his worst S% is 10.8...so guess what happens when things normalize? JVR will start having some string of games where he shoots 20-30%.

You have proven nothing, just that you don't understand how things work.

i don't think they move byron. he has a good contract, he wears an A, bleeds CH..he's a swiss army knife who kills penalties and is good for 20 goals. I see guys like weal, cousins, etc ...moving before him. Crazy to think that at 30..he and thompson (34) are habs oldest forwards

If Byron gets traded it's as part of a package for a true #1 LD, since Bryon alone would not get someone like that in return.

You can’t be serious. Do you even have an asset that gets a true #1 defenceman?

Byron offers next to no value is a proposal for an impact defenceman.
