Start with the Rick Nash trade and then add another good prospect. So something like a prime aged 2nd line forward or middle pair D, a young top-9 forward with top-6 upside, 2 good+ prospects and a 1st rounder for Kane.

Since Arizona and Chicago love trading with each other, I'll use them as an example with pretending everyone is healthy: Kane for Dvorak, Fischer, Hayton, Joseph/Capobiano and a 1st. So basically, it would gut any team's future pool.

Won't happen unless the Hawks "sell low" on him. He is 30 now, and like it or not, it doesn't last forever. That doesn't mean he sucks now, or that he will suck even in the next year or two.

However any team acquiring him, at least in the eyes of fans on here, will be paying for what he has done and not for what he is at this point... Which is a very talented and high end player who is just exiting their prime and in 2-3 years is very likely not worth anything close to his salary.

Ok just for fun:
Nylander
Marleau
Liljegren
2019 + 2020 1st

The cellies post top shelf between Austin and Patrick would be taken to the next level.

The answer remains no.

That offer is the very definition of gutting the future.

The Leafs don't have a problem scoring and don't need to gut the future for a player of Kane's calibre.

Look to the Habs for a trading partner for Kane.

It really is sad that pretty much everyone expects every player to become useless at 33..

I don’t get it in this case. Kane is not a future HOFer because of his skating; he’s an all-time great because of his skill. Those types of players can produce at a high level as they get into the mid-30s and beyond. Jagr had a 66 point season at 43/44. Selanne was a point per game player at 40. Martin St. Louis won an Art Ross at 37.

I’d be surprised if Kane wasn't 70-80 point caliber over the next 8-10 years.
