i am not sure what i said has to do with habs fans.. the kid was bad last year and lost..maybe it was injuries.... this year he has blossomed and that was my point. Don't try and make it a negative when i am complimenting

Oh no, I didn't want to turn your post in a negative, don't understand how you came to this conclusion.

No, no, no... I was just praising Huberdeau just like you ! :)

When will our talent catch up to our solid work ethic? Losses like last night make me ask this question.

Id rather be lazy like tampa all game come down the ice and have a chance to score every time.

Our 1st Periods have killed us all season. Oddly, the 2nd period we must be one of the most dominant teams in the league.

Ugh, I'm angry. Not at the team, not at the players... just ****ing angry. We deserve to have something go our way for once. This sucks.

Right there with you. In a general sense, I'm happy with this season.

However, there just seems to so many aspects that can be improved upon with this team. Power Play, running around in our own zone, speed and creativity on the wings.

Need to find the "correct" wingers for Bjugstad and a PMD for Gudbranson to play with. Tampa was pressuring him all night. Last night he couldn't make the right play quickly enough to start a breakout. Maybe its just a bad night for him.

I still maintain Hays, Pirri, and Trocheck were bad last night. They should not be playing together. Not defensively good enough. Too many turn overs. Kopecky was not good. He simply doesn't have enough skating ability to defend the point and be available on the defensive halfboards to clear the puck out.

Tampa has Stamkos, Palat, Johnson, and Kucherov. High end speed and skill. Palat was their best forward last night. I don't know how the Panthers get players of that caliber/impact, but thats what we need.

On the plus side: Huberdeau was awesome. Barkov was very good. Jagr was very good. Ekblad was good. Trocheck was average.

Well, I hope the Panthers shake it off fast and start winning. I'm going to my first NHL game Saturday - got tickets to the Panthers @ Montreal for my birthday - so I want to see a visiting team win.

Not that I'll be able to cheer much, I think she bought me tickets in one of the home fan sections

I think what'll be hardest to take this year is knowing the team was actually playing like they should be this time of year...and are still losing.

That said, this team needs to be kept together for next year, maybe shed a couple spare parts not contributing much...pick up another higher-end offensive winger if there's one available in free agency, and make another depth defensive signing or two to cover injuries since the team's a bit shallow there. And that SHOULD be a sure-fire playoff team that could get past the first round. After that it'll be a matter of seasoning and finding a replacement for Jagr (hopefully amongst the prospect pool), who'll have to retire sometime sooner rather than later. He clearly adds to this team - Barkov and Huberdeau were slumping all season, and just adding him has made them both come alive offensively. Stop scratching Pirri (which I think Gallant has already realized was a mistake) and realize he's an goalscoring and powerplay specialist who shouldn't be relied on for defense, and upgrade the back lines with some of the youngsters to chip in some more goals. This team will compete. Oh, and something will need to be done with Bolland. Too much money for too little return.

First of all, you picked a great place for your first game, nothing like hockey in Montreal. For your other comments, I disagree that they've played like a playoff team, in 2015 they're on a pace for about a point a game, so an 82 point average, that's not a playoff team. The last 10 games don't make up for the previous 30.

Jagr is coming back next season and I think he'll be here. He's not retiring in any case. The free agent market is incredibly weak so it's trades or nothing.

And there is no point complaining about Bolland, he's here and not going anywhere.

Agreed.

If only we can win the lottery. If that happens the entire board will call it rigged and that Bettman did it. And more haters:handclap:

Looks btw like Guds had a bad game. Bad turnover on goal #2, and didnt cover/follow Callahan on the 4th, even if Lou should have had it..

Arent saying we are the kings not even close.

But take comfort that we have Mitchell, who in 2012, helped the team qualify for the playoffs on THE LAST WEEKEND of that season.

His leadership won't allow this team to get down in the dumps, Jagr too.

lou should of stopped the wrap around for sure. guds didn't have his best game. those stupid mistakes the first period sealed the deal! season could be toast now unless everyone above has a meltdown and we get hot and win more than 3 games in a row.
still really dislike bolland!

It's done.

What I fear the most going into next season is we'll have most likely the totally same forward units together.

Gudbranson has been much better this year than last, but yes, he was awful last night. Bad game for him to revert to '11-14 version of Gudbranson.

IMHO, Bolland played well the past two games.

Not worth a 5 million dollar contract but he does contribute. Doesn't seem to be a liability defensively. However, he is not good enough to employ in a shut down role.

He needs to play with faster defensive wingers to even attempt to be part of a shut down line.

With Boyes and Jokinen its more like jack of all trades masters of none line.

Oh come on now, reserve judgment till Sunday Night!

Ottawa Plays the Rangers tomorrow, Panthers play the leafs

Saturday they get the leafs we got the Habs,

then Sunday is the showdown for the season.

Very Real chance we leave Ottawa 1 point down. dont jump off yet! Plenty of room here in the playoff cart.

I was hoping to see Lu's 400th win tomorrow, have to settle for 399. Anyone else going? Usually my seats are good value, but you could get great seats for half price.

I couldn't make it down for a game this year but I'm guessing the atmosphere at the game will be similar to Florida's :sarcasm:

The improvements this team has made from all key guys this year is awesome... huby especially is turning into a high end offensive player... I think if barkov gets a healthy offseason which I don't think he did last year he's gonna go nuts next year...they r learning that u have to bring the desperation every night so they won't be in this same spot next year... what a great season

Barkov is already starting to go nuts. The Jagr acquisition was worth the picks two-fold just for that aspect alone.

Yes that's the first thing I said when we acquired him... it wasn't just a move for the present... even if we miss playoffs having him around our youngsters has already paid dividends
