Yeah, this really shouldn't be a major issue that needs to be worked on before the draft.

Their draft lists are probably set considering they've been working on the draft for months now. Any big deal isn't going to be finalized 4 hours before a draft, you hear big deals that have been in the works for months. Plus its probably not hard to just send texts between an executive and an agent while at the draft.

It only takes one phone call to make a deal though.

The Hamilton deal wasn't one that was in the works for hours, and the Cory Schneider - Vancouver deal was made after a 9 minute phone call, prior to which the teams never talked about it.

Has to be at least $575K. That's the minimum for the 2015-16 season.

Drafting Drouin was a big mistake. They were very close to having a Hedman - Jones pairing for a decade.

We're about to see if Yzerman makes mistakes. He obviously was very smart and lucky with the triplets now he's going to have to pay Stamkos and Hedman top money and manage the cap as all these young guys need to get paid.

He had a pretty decent season. Not bad for a waiver pickup. Probably ends up around 2 years, $1M per I'd guess.
