There is no way Pageau will be a career AHLer, simply because he plays a 200 foot game and is a coaches dream, so he will always get opportunities on the bottom 6. somewhere, even if he were to falter and become a journeyman.
The real question is whether he has top 6 upside or not. I kind of hedge and see him as an elite checking line center, ultimately. Perhaps a Dave Bolland type.
And a few people on these boards seem to be forgetting how young Pageau is. For his draft year, he is well ahead of schedule. Heck, he's played about the same number of games as some lottery picks in that draft, such as Strome.
