Patches out six weeks is not ideal to say the least especially with no word on Stone. If the Stone injury was mild we would probably know by now.

It's about how and where the puck hits you. Martinez combines his awareness with angling his body in a way that will minimize the hurt.

Now, Martinez broke his foot in the playoffs(or was it prior?) too, but considering the sheer quantity, a shot block going awry is kind of bound to happen.

It's hard to see the boot guard on TV, but if you're looking for it, you can see the clear cover if you look at the feet. (But most of TV coverage shows waist up for close ups.)
