Not a fan at all.

Good skills and can score but I don't like him. Thank god it's a one year..

Seems like a guy who could pick up a lot of garbage goals and return a good pick at the deadline.

I'm all about it.

Little risk/Decent Reward pickup.

He produces, we trade him at the deadline for picks.

He doesn't, $1.5 million on a one-year deal isn't going to hurt us.

this is obviously a deal where if he plays well he will get shipped at the deadline for a pick! so free pick in ur pocket! Good job Shanny!

My favorite signing so far along with Winnik. Low risk but with intriguing reward. Could very well put up 60 points.

Also another thing I'll mention though is that if his contract was 1.5m with the habs, a lot of us would be happier with him I think. It's the 4m cap hit that really made us dislike him, he wasn't showing he was worth it nearly enough (if anything he was showing us he was overpaid by 2.5m and deserved just 1.5m lol)...so I think at his current contract with the Leafs, his output will be more acceptable since he's not paid like a 2nd liner.

Smells like a cheaper, shorter termed Tim Connolly, he'll be a one and done.

I like Paranteau a lot but he's basically just Connor Brown's benchwarmer until the deadline

(Or anyone else for that matter. Hyman/Bailey/Panik/Soshnikov etc.)

He is a .65 PPG career, 32 year old.

.62 over the past 3 years.

A late bloomer.

Scouting Report

Strengths: He’s a well-rounded offensive player that can produce well
at both even strength and powerplay situations. Playmaking is a
particularly strong attribute.

Weaknesses: His skating isn’t the greatest while he has a tendency to
wander at times. He isn’t the most physical of players and can be prone to
defensive miscues.

"can be prone to defensive miscues." Maybe put him with Bozak, he's got experience in this area.

PAP is the kind of guy who can put up deceptively good numbers when put in the right circumstance. If he is put on a scoring line and #1PP in Toronto, there's a chance for gaudy numbers and a juicy return at the deadline. There's still teams that gets fooled like that.
