Not a big fan of the ending. Season four should've just been a 10 episode season like the rest. Nothing happened in the last 7 episodes that couldn't have been condensed down to 3. The P.I and custody stuff was a waste of time.

I don't see what's so bad about it. SHTF, they clearly aren't getting out and will continue to do what they do for their own benefit and to save their own skin, and one can presume they may meet similar fate in the future due to the nature of their lives now. Nothing wrong with that, IMO.

What would you all have changed?

Agreed. The ending was extremely fitting and how it should've been.

The good guys don't always win.

Well, it started to get really silly with the kid laundering money. Other than that, the only problem I had with the last season was that it got really repetitive with all the murders (I agree that the asylum stuff was pretty dumb and I too felt that the whole narrative structure surrounding the accident was pointless, but maybe I missed something).

It definitely got silly at times, but that's the story they're telling, so fine. I only pick apart the story based on the story as they tell it rather than what I'd do or likelihood of it ever happening in real life, etc.

I saw the car crash look-ahead as a simple way to make us wonder all season about what's going to happen. Or when it actually happened, a way to suggest that even though things look good and they think they have it all figured out, everything can change in a second and who knows what could happen. That's certainly fitting for just about everything that went on.

Wtf was the point of the car crash....Is this some artistic ending to a show where we dont realize that Wendy was put in a coma from the crash and everything after is her coma dream

It was a wake-up call to the kids, showing them how much their parents love them, and how much they need each other. Watch Jonah's reaction as they hold each other after crawling out of the vehicle. He was keeping his emotions under wraps in the last half-season, but he picked up a lot of his dad's quiet patience.

They were already back to the happy, cohesive, nuclear family in the car before the crash happened. Jonah was a gargoyle after he got out of the car and they had zero interaction as a family till the last seconds when Jonah comes out and shoots a cop

I was fairly happy with how it ended to be honest. From a certain point onwards I only continued watching because of Ruth and she was my true protagonist, so it's fitting that it ended with her death and the Byrdes carrying on because they were insufferable by the end

Was surprised they didn't have a small part where they exposed Wendy's dad as being a liar / still an alcoholic. Seemed liked they focused a bit on that between Ruth catching him throwing out the mini bar bottles, him telling his wife/girlfriend to leave him in peace (so he could drink), and then smashing a bottle of JD at 10 in the morning.

Did you miss the scene where Ruth holds him up at gunpoint after getting him drunk?

Started this series a couple weeks ago, and now midway through Season 3. Interesting series so far, I'll say that. Most annoying part are the kids so far...the whole Charlotte "I'm a teenager and I'm going to rebel" cliché with the parents not knowing how to handle it, got old very quick.

Just wait for her brother to start following his father's example. Very dumb. But yeah, overall it's a fun one.

I have to wonder if they’re planning on doing a continuations some day. That final season, especially the back half still felt unresolved and was kinda shocked the whole family survived

This might be a hot take but I could never stand Ruth and the whole “I don’t know s*** about f***” She was a whiney child up until the very end and I felt so relieved when she died

Halfway through season 4 now, and I totally get what you're saying. Very annoying though, to make the son seem like he thinks he's tough all of a sudden and grew a pair, after never having them before, made no sense. Still very cringeworthy to see both Wendy & Marty not know how to ever be parents. I keep thinking to myself, yeah, if I talked like that to my parents back in the day, the belt would be coming out, and it would serve me right...so I keep rooting for that to happen, ha.

Finally finished season 4. Ending was just ok...wasn't as bad as say the Dexter ending or whatnot, but just ok. Overall, I'd give the series a 6 out of 10. Could have been a little better, less repetitive at times, less annoying characters for some.

The one thing I think they left kind of open to question in the final episode, is with the whole Navarro's sister & Ruth thing, after that, who did they expect to continue the day to day laundering operations at the casino? Especially if the family is on the way back to Chicago to begin their political life, etc.

I'd imagine Rachel (who returned to the series and became business partners with Ruth) would likely take over laundering for the cartel - however I'd think Navarro's sister Camila would be more comfortable with Marty/Wendy since they are more experienced and are trusted by the cartel.

Which will complicate their big Chicago plans
