There were no decent goaltenders available. There are very few good goaltenders in the NHL. They could get someone better than Skinner but who still wouldn't be good enough to go far. And they would probably have had to give up whatever prospects they have.
Well they should give up prospects and whatever they need to to get a good goalie, they should be in win now mode. Holland is an idiot

Aidan Hill backstopped Vegas to the cup last year.

When you don't have a clear cut #1, you need to do better than Skinner/Pickard. This was obviously going to be an issue for the oilers.

Allen at the price of a 3rd would've been a no brainer.

Holloway & Broberg were decent trade chips that could've fetched someone better than Allen.

Their 1st would've been better used for G upgrade rather than Henrique as well.

Bad roster asset management is the issue imo

Gotta say, dont see much from Bouchard aside from a big shot

He looks like Fulton Reed being fed by Adams Banks

Passing, vision, walking, etc, just limited
Every time I'm impressed by Bouchard, it's because a shot of his got tipped in. Nothing about his hockey IQ or athleticism or dangles or anything else.
