Personally would have rather kept Soria and Dantas over Jarun and Heinemann.

Just thought Jarun was a step (maybe four) too slow against the league's faster teams - MIN, FTL, EDM, etc.

Honestly thought Dantas was a better technical player than Heinemann, who for me just didn't finish enough of his chances. Yes, he had five or six goals - but at least three were penalties.

Not surprised they released Caceros. Will be interesting to see what they do with Devala Gorrick - I doubt he'll want to spend a full season here in 2015 as a backup.

Or better? New York Cosmos signed the legendary Raul a few weeks ago. Can't wait to see him at TD Place! :yo:

With players like this coming into the NASL, who's to say we couldn't land say Gerrard?

New York seem a bit special in that department. I doubt we'll be signing any high profile players any time soon.

Looking forward to getting season tickets in the spring.

Toronto FC has declined options on defender Ryan Richter; midfielder Jeremy Hall; forwards Dwayne De Rosario and Andrew Wiedeman.

Couple of players for the Fury next year.

Heard about that on the news this morning. What is that they were talking about this team belonging to a special school? Does the Fury have some sort of special development program at the kids/teen level as well?

They do indeed. The Fury Academy is one of 5 developmental soccer programs/schools in the country alongside TFC Academy, Academie de l'Impact de Montreal, Whitecaps Academy and FC Edmonton Academy.

Think of them as minor league affiliates that develop prospects for the team...similar to the Binghampton Sens but in Soccer they start claiming and developing prospects at a significantly younger age.

These Academies will do wonders for our Men's National Team.

So these kids are recruited from the region then? Or is it one of those things where they can bring in kids from various countries? I'm somewhat surprised we would have enough elite talent at the youth level to win a North American Championship.

Gord Smith is the Scotty, Dan is the voice of basically every sport on Rogers and the announcer at the 67's games.

Interesting move by the NASL was announced a couple weeks back, as they announced that the league will be running the Atlanta Silverbacks franchise.

Not sure how I feel about the move. Yes, it's probably the only way the Atlanta franchise stays afloat, but at the same time - what kind of advantages/disadvantages will the team have playing 'for' the league?

Interesting. Strikers bringing on Ronaldo as a minority owner's purely a 'for show' move, although having an extra soccer brain in the organization can't be a detriment.

Excited (nervous?) to see the Fury's off-season moves - there will have to be plenty, as the team only has six players under contract as of right now. :amazed:

If we had De Ro, the whole franchise would have a huge marketing tool.

Canada's all time scorer and front man for the last decade holding the fort in the nation's capital.

money.

Also

The club also announced that they will not be renewing the contract of goalkeeper Devala Gorrick.

Peiser has been absolute stellar for us and should start every game he can but Gorrick showed extremely well for us in the Spring season and I'm more than a little sad to see him go. I remember he had a phenomenal game in that opening series with Edmonton in the Canadian Cup.

Wish him well hopefully he finds another place in NASL or elsewhere.
