Proposal: Ottawa Cap dumpster

Seems pretty dumb. The Jets are fine cap wise after the Trouba deal, after this hypothetical trade they'd have a bunch of cap space and no nearly enough NHL players

I’m assuming we need cap to make sure laine and Connor are signed to 8 year deals, also Morrissey next year

How does this deal hurt Ottawa? They save actual cash and get more cap. We also have Carle's dead cap of 1.83 coming off the books which is roughly the max bonuses for those players would be.

You'll also have Vasilevsky, Cirelli, Joseph, Sergachev, and Cernak needing new deals the year Carle's dead cap comes off. It would be nice to have Carle's dead cap come off AND to have the full ceiling available.

That luxury costs something. In the market right now, who do you think there are more of: Teams looking to dump cap or teams looking to add useless high AAV guys?

You would be sending something with Callahan or enjoy your lower ceiling in 2020.
