What's the difference between these Panthers and the underachieving Sharks teams of yesterday??

Watching Florida in the playoffs is like watching the Sharks in the playoffs any year other than the 2016 Stanley Cup Final year. That powerful team who was lethal on the power play and just dominated all regular season long has gone missing. I'm always amazed in Hockey how it feels like the way the game is played changes from regular season to playoffs.
This Florida team, in theory, has more top-end talent, more depth, and better coaching than those pre-2016 Sharks teams ever had...

It's a poor excuse that fans make, but you can kind of see how Florida picked up/reinforced bad habits against Washington. They could get away with just out-skilling a non-contender.

Thornton may have knees that wobble on the slightest impact, but his brain for how to run a PP is still there. And with Tampa only playing 11 forwards it hurts less to have him out there for the odd shift 5-on-5.

If Calgary can't contain McDavid, then Edmonton's defense and goaltending are going to have to be really bad for Calgary to win the series.

It's not icing if the puck touches the crease, no? Right call...

The winner of Colorado/St. Louis is coming out of the West.
Probably, but if Edmonton can make it past Calgary, and Colorado can't contain McDavid (they aren't exactly a defensive stalwart)...

Mcdavid with 20 points in 9 games, will reach 30 points by the end of the series with calgary if it goes 6 or 7 games.
