Gens will get some sort of comp pick if Guelph signs him. Too bad how things ended up for him here. Lots of of injuries and mono last season. Could never string together a healthy run in the line up.

SAINT JOHN – The Saint John Sea Dogs have signed overage goaltender Patrick Leaver, the team announced on Tuesday.

“We’re very happy to add Patrick to our team,” said Sea Dogs general manager Anthony Stella. “With his CHL and playoff experience, we feel he’s the right person to help mentor our younger goaltenders and take on a leadership role.”

Leaver was originally selected in the eighth round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection by the Oshawa Generals. The six-foot-one, 185-pound netminder made his OHL debut during the 2021-22 season registering a .908 save percentage and a 3.20 goals-against-average in 49 games.

Last season Leaver suited up in 29 games with the Generals before being traded to the Guelph Storm in January. The Perth, Ontario product went 24-18-1 in 48 games split between Oshawa and Guelph, posting a 3.67 goals-against-average and a .884 save-percentage.

Going to have to ask him on Twitter. He’s not on this board anymore. Looks like it’s updated with the most recent LDN/NIA trade

Is anyone able to get a message to GeneralsUpdates? SGC left a message for him in the Picks Database thread, if someone can let him know?

Ty Petrou and Carter Bickle both look to be waived. Neither of them are listed on the Gens roster anymore
The Petrou news is a bit shocking, Bickle however is not. I've been saying since last season its time for Sabby to get called up.

Side note, if Sabourin IS indeed with the Gens full time, that gives Oshawa Native Owen Edwards to ability to become the starter for Elmira this year. (Drafted by kitchener this past draft)

What's your basis of not good enough? He was the No.1 goalie last year in the GOJHL. Finished the season with a 1.71 GAA and a 928 SV%
Agreed. Bender put up solid numbers in jr c, but that would seem like a big jump for a kid going from jr c to the OHL. Feels like it’s Sabourin’s back up job to lose. We’ll see how the rest of his preseason plays outs

6 Oshawa Generals head to NHL camps. Oster, Stewart and Rolofs are all unsigned.
