I will add that Varlamov didn’t do the Islanders any favors in his two starts, both losses.

Never got the hate of Pierre. Pretty neutral on him. You can tell he's passionate about hockey and sometimes turns into a nerd and rambles for too long, but I think he's just fine.

Panthers vs Lightning: 3 goals against Knight, no chance on any. Vasilevskiy gets the shutout.

Golden Knights vs Wild: 3 goals against Fleury, no chance on any. Talbot gets the shutout.

So that’s 14 goals scored on goalies, 3 are stoppable. That’s 21% of the goals scored were stoppable. Combined save percentages were .913%.

He will at times harp on the most senseless crap and seemingly can’t let it alone. The whole shtick about how “smart” Sorokin was. When all he was doing was stopping a shot from the point and freezing a puck. “He knows the situation. He sees the puck. He doesn’t allow a rebound.” First like it’s intelligence to make a stop. Then like it takes a genius to feeeze a puck. And on and on through replay and minutes of dead action. Not even Dano would patter on like that about literally nothing.

All fairly routine glove saves that beat him clean. One leaked through him.

Let him be an example of why you can’t always win with some mediocre nobody goalie.

The Pens already won two cups (really 1.5) with a mediocre nobody goalie in recent memory. It’s just that he actually pretended to be a good goalie while doing it.
