Nice to see him get a contract.

I still dont get why they are waiting to sign Draitsaitl after McDavid. /shrug.

Our horrible GM not only overpaid by trading away Ben Scrivens, but now he extends this fan favourite!? What a tool! Fire him!

Am I doing this right!?

Since we overpaid for Russell, these small discounts of 300-400K will really even things out.

Awesome deal. Great to have this high energy fan favorite locked up for a few years. Excellent work Chia.

Good for Zach. Hope he can continue to play hockey and keep things going well. As long as he does that I am glad he is a part of the team.

Happy this deal came in under 2M per.

I really like him as a fit for this team but long term he is a 3rd/4th line guy and we cannot afford to pay someone in that role way to handsomely but this deal should fit our cap needs.

Are you serious? as a 3rd liner, he's WAY underpaid. That's a perfect salary for a guy like Kassian. He's only 26 too, so by the time his contract is up, he'll be 29. Most 3rd liners get paid 2-4M. 4th liners are 500k to 2M. He fits perfectly where we need him.

Edit - oops. Misread what you said. Sounded like you were saying he was overpaid. You meant other players coming would be overpaid. Gotcha.

So long as the league doesn't completely neuter his ability to be physical this guy is going to terrorize most of our division. The Flames are especially soft after losing Engelland.

Best news of the offseason! Kassian quickly became one of my favorite Oilers after his great playoff performance and cemented himself as one of those heart and soul Oilers in my eyes

Terrific, love the deal. Great value for a legit 3rd liner who brings more than just on ice contribution. I just hope he stays hungry and more importantly, on the right track in life now that he got some long term security.
