Right now we're on pace to allow 323 goals (rounded up it's actually 324, but I was being nice) against for the season.
If that holds, that would represent the highest amount of goals the Oilers have ever surrendered in a regular season campaign with the exception of the horrible 1992-93 Oilers team.
This is considerably worse than the recent seasons we finished last/second last and more goals against than any of those crazy, high scoring 80s seasons.
I know people will say you can't keep blaming the coach, but how in the world have we gotten this much worse defensively? This swarm system that Eakins is employing is not working at all, even Pat Quinn's hapless Oilers of a few years ago only gave up 284.
Goaltending is part of the issue, but this defensive system is a complete and utter disaster. The players aren't getting it.
