Just to make it worse, the Oilers are on pace for two shootout wins, something the Thrashers didn't have an opportunity at. So this team is on pace for one more regulation + OT win than Atlanta. The last time a team finished with 17 wins or less?

This is the first year of the rebuild, right? Oh wait.
Sad though. 3 games as actual coach and 0 regulation losses.Nelson will take the fall.
We have a better win percentage as of lateI actually think 17 wins is a bit of an overestimate. They're at 8 wins now due to some lucky breaks they had earlier on in the season, they're winning about twice every 14 games (see November and December) for a win % of like 14.28%, that equates to 6.88 wins by game 82. So, I think 14-15 wins is more likely. Given the inevitable removal of NHL capable players from the team over time (see Perron), and the fact that teams are going to be pushing for playoff spots over the next few months, it could drop below even that. This team will go down as one of the worst NHL teams in NHL history.
In a few years 30 for 30 should make a movie about this rebuild.
