Now you've got me thinking of the missed potential for Tony Jay and Maurice Lamarche to be in the same show.

The world was denied the crazy potential of a Megabyte cameo on Futurama. Or Max and company jumping through a portal and landing in an episode of Pinky & the Brain

Yea definitely, I just grew up with the first season moreso than the later ones.

I still have a VHS tape of recorded episodes when it was on ABC (Jesus Christ what a long time ago), in which as a stupid child I accidentally recorded over the end of the first episode. I forgot what happened in the end of that episode for years.

Ironically it got better because it stopped being on ABC, which meant they weren't beholden to ABC's standards & practices department (the episode about Enzo's birthday with the picky, overly critical character that objects to every potential act for the party was them taking a shot at ABC's S&P person. ). The season 2 and 3 big final battles between Enzo and Megabyte are fantastic
