This has shaped up to be one of the best off-seasons (and I’ll include trade deadline deals) in club history. It’s been painful to say good-bye to players I’ve enjoyed - Captain, Savard and Cam - but this gives the team a fresh start. The prospect pool is better than it’s been in a while (I anticipate no less than 3 of the Traverse City player will be roster players in two years). And while I wasn’t in favor of the Lars hire, maybe he can draw out the same success from the younger guys as he did in Cleveland.
I’m not completely sure what to expect this year, but even in missing the playoffs I’m pretty sure it won’t be the tire-fire of last year. Anxious to get started.
