He won't be a fringe player either, kid will put up points. Also for a team that just went to the Stanley Cup finals barely making it is still quite the accomplishment. This isn't the Coyotes where all the spots are open.
Yes it's not the Coyotes, but the point always was that his spot wasn't guaranteed, like Bedard or Fantilli. He had to earn it with 6 pts in preseason, and a fantastic development camp, and Luostarinen moving up to line 2 because of Bennett's injury definitely helped. Him putting up points isn't guaranteed either, we'll see what happens. He definitely has the potential to, and I wouldn't be surprised. But he could also not be quite ready yet, struggle or not put up enough points to stay up. It's not a knock on him to say he wasn't a top 3 pick, basically.
