The couple of 2016 kids listed are all highly touted for next year's draft.

So glad it's back in North America this year instead of Russia or Sweden the past couple years. No more waking up at weird times to watch games.

Yeah, me too. It'll also be great seeing it in that atmosphere.

It'd be amazing to see Morin and Sanheim play there and look good.

Love this tournament, will be great to see Sanhiem and Morin if they make it.

Really hoping for a USA v Canada gold medal game. Competition should be tough but I think Europe is gonna struggle a bit coming back over to North America ground.

So does everyone involved with the tournament, especially the media, they want to be able to make a huge deal out of McDavid vs Eichel.

Canada's center position will look pretty underwhelming if they don't get any NHLers back. McDavid will be coming off injury around that time so he could potentially be rusty entering the tournament. They're usually good for goaltending collapse as well.

USA will probably have some younger players in key positions so that could go anyway. I just hope they give DeAngelo a fair shake this camp & cut out the bs politics.

Anyone going up for this? I'll be at all of USA's games, and probably a few other random ones that I wasn't able to sell.

Preliminary (?) rosters for Sweden were released. Hagg and Lindbolm are on the list.

Still a pretty good group. If anything they will be weak at RW.

Yep, preliminary roster. Carrying 3 goalies, 7 D-men and 14 forwards right now w/o Burakovsky so a couple of guys will be cut I assume.

On a related topic. We did a fantasy draft at last years WJC, any interest to do it again this year? If so I could start a separate thread.

I'm not really a big Reinhart fan. I'm not really big on Gauthier neither. I just don't think they matchup well against a team like USA for example who has skill & size down the middle.

So is this Hagg's 3rd WJC?

My friend has the Toronto tournament tickets to this. So we'll see all Group B games, semis, and finals. I'm hoping I'll be able to tag along to some/most of these games. So excited.

Yeah. He made it as 17 year old as an injury replacement.

After looking at SWE roster he is the heaviest guy on the ice for them. Their D-core doesn't look very physical it would be nice to see Hagg throw around his weight a little this tourney.

I added a list of draft eligible players who made camp rosters, if/when they make the final roster I'll add their numbers as well as take out the guys who didn't make the cut. The same goes for the Flyers prospects.

Some teams had more draft eligible players but if they weren't on Central Scouting's list I didn't list them. Also some teams didn't release a camp roster yet (the ones that have no names listed), I'll just add them at the start of the tournament.

Yah it's good to get the tourney in na. These crazy time zones in Sweden and Russia were pretty grinding. Get up at 4 am local time to watch requires bulk energy drinks.
Hagg was pretty much a shutdown d for Sweden last year. Had a few hits, good skater, good passer. He is gonna be a two way dman in the bigs, so I hope Sweden uses him as one.
