Thanks. It wouldn't be weekly travel but more like once ever couple months for a week or so. Mostly to vegas but could be anywhere in the US and probably once a year or so international.

Job sounded very interesting so I put in for it never thinking i would have a shot. I did well in the first round where there were 18 applicants. Then went in for the 2nd and feel it went well and it was down to 6 of us. I would be back commuting to Boston again where now I drive to work in Quincy but I did the commuter rail thing for years so i can get used to that again very quick.

I have only been on a plane for 4 trips in my life (Florida twice, Bahamas and Nashville). so that is where my issue with now traveling by plane comes in. Going back to Disney in October so that will be trip 5. If I get the job I will have to go to Vegas within the first 4 months or so for training for a week. That would be my longest flight ever. I am afraid of heights and have anxiety issues going in elevators, tall buildings, air travel but I think it is something I can overcome for this (with the help of meds for the air travel until I adjust).
All I can do now is wait but the anticipation is killing me. Then if I do get an offer I have to go through a background investigation, drug test, finger printing, CORI and all kinds of other stuff (none of which should be an issue).

I've not flown much either. My ex didnt like to travel, so we did local stuff. I was nervous about the motion during my first flight. I too have only flown about 4 times. Im not scared of heights or dying...mostly motion.

my first flight (with trevor) we had the worst turbulence. Its over in a brief moment, and you survive. Remember, planes were built to stay up. That was to FLA.

My second flight was to AZ in April. 6 hours...it felt like the plane never moved on the way out. No bumps, no shimmy; just long. A little bumpy on the way back to Boston.

I totally sympathize with your fear. I fly now, but its still not my favorite.

oh yes I have a story about bad turbulence and i have only been on a plan a few times as I said. I was with my Brother-in-law on the way back from Disney and he has flown all over the world (Europe, China over six times for example). He said that flight back from Florida was the worst he was ever on. So bad he almost canceled his trip to Spain he had a few days later. It was not fun at all and it was 5 years before I got on a plane again after that. The next time was not so bad and I was able to deal with it. I feel if I do it a few more times it will get better each time and I will get more comfortable.

The job said I will fly on average about once every three months so I figure I can handle that much travel and if I don't like it I transfer to another area. Key is to get in the door there. My interview was last Thursday and they said they plan to get back by the end of this week.

So far its been a REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAALY long week.

I said for much of my life that I am scared of heights, but I think what it really is instead is a need to feel "secure." On flights, I prefer window seats because I love the views. If it's a relatively smooth flight, I don't have issues. But if turbulence hits, all bets are off.

I can actually be petrified to go up into an attic, because it involves a rickety ladder. Again, security. I think I have a major fear of falling. If I'm going down stairs, I have to hold on to a railing. I can't stand to walk down the middle of a big open staircase.

I'm weird. :(

Rumor has it Bruins Bear was in Bristol to complain about ESPN's hockey coverage.

Bear Walks Into Bristol Liquor Store

A bear wandered into a Bristol, Connecticut liquor store Monday and the entire incident was captured on surveillance camera.

The bear can be seen wandering through the parking lot at Crazy Bruce's Discount Liquor on Farmington Avenue before making its way to the sidewalk. An employee said the automatic door, operated by motion sensors, opened for the bear, which walked into the vestibule.

The animal only made it to the doorway. Two quick-thinking employees hooked the latches at the top of the second set of doors from inside the store to prevent the bear from making it all the way in.
An unsuspecting customer actually walked right through the vestibule without noticing the bear as he was ushered inside by an employee.

Nobody made me switch hands, but I learned to do some things righty out of necessity. I was a grocery store cashier in high school, and all the registers were set up so that you could scan with the left hand and do the register stuff with your right hand.

These things were evil. And discriminatory. :sarcasm: And uncomfortable.

I’m left handed or I write left (I do pretty much everything else right) and thought we had left ones ?

This must have been after the Bear left ESPN- he probably needed a drink desperately after dealing with those jackwagons :biglaugh:

Really looking forward to the hockey season this year. More so than I would have ever of thought. May even head to Buffalo to see the rookies.

Fwiw this song is in 12/8 time. I never knew that until I looked at the piano sheet music. Then again I never actually sat down and try to figure out the time signature before but interesting none the less.

I could never wrap my head around different time signatures in music class. Keys, modes, and chords all made sense, but I guess I can’t count rhythms. Probably a good thing I picked up a guitar instead of drums.

I’ve heard that song 100 times and I never thought that was anything different than 4/4. With a band like Tool it’s pretty obvious the rhythms are different though.

I am sure you are moving on to bigger and better things. You have a new job lined up already?

I wish i know when/if my last day was here.
Not yet.

Have a second phone interview Monday but if that doesn’t pan out then I’ll probably contract to perm.

I took a package for that very reason. I get to control my last day and I have everything in writing.

oh that sucks. I figured you had a new job lined up. At least you got a package out of it some people are not so lucky. I have been through corporate buyouts where they shut down the local office, major layoffs, outsourcing to other countries....you name it.

Good luck on the 2nd interview. hope it is a good company and it all works out for you.

I haven't been on an interview in a few years up until last week. I think it went very well but the waiting game is now killing me to see if I got the job. They said they will try and be in touch by the end of this week but I have a feeling it will drag into next week at the soonest.

Wrote a thank you note to our realtors. They gifted us two hours with a Feng Shui consultant and a few other things.
Best part....I knew what room to go get the stamps in. (I am a slave to organization) I make no apologies.

feels good.

also--the house now smells brilliantly like eucalyptus. (sorry I'm a slave to smells too)
