A technicality maybe, and an old post, but Håkan Loob had spent his spring in Allsvenskan.
Damn frustrating I could say. We almost never beat Sweden anyways...
Four previous World Championship meetings between Finland and Austria have occurred in Finland: 2003, 2013, 2022 and 2023.
Austria has been on top level also in 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2019 but in each time in different group as Finland. First five years were when there were four groups of four followed by six-team second stage or four-team relegation round.
The last time two teams met somewhere else was in 2002 in Sweden.
