The real reason Sekac will not fall to the Rangers is not because of their waiver priority. It is because why the **** would Alganis Vignoulie ditch his biffler Tanny?

The Canadian dollar is sitting at about the 74-cent mark today, having staged a remarkable rebound from the bottom of the pack to near the top.

Analysts say there has been a clear shift in market sentiment, and a relatively quick one at that.

Looks like the CAD will not be dropping as much as some of the doomsayers here have been preaching--- We shall see but encouraging

Since 2012, the Rangers have heavily mortgaged their future for shots at the cup. It has to end at some point.

Although I disagree with it, I can understand the decision to keep Yandle for the playoff run then see what happens with his contract. Theres value in having him the next couple of months. If they piss away more assets for Eric Staal or someone similar, I am going to be pissed. I don't see it happening though, thank goodness.

The drop is currently from 0,778 CAD/U$D July 1, 2015 to 0,74 CAD/U$D today = 4,9%
Cannot see the cap standing still or even going down as some have said. I expect a cap at 74,5 - 75 M

FWIW,Craig Custance believes Eriksson is the remaining rental forward worth a #1. He was exchanging tweets with some other writers when he made the comment.

I think Hudler would be a solid addition. I actually kind of hope the Rangers look into him in the off-season as well. Very smart player.

I find AV's comments to be interesting. Give this group one more run. But does that mean win or lose, that they start to retool in the offseason and let Gorton imprint his identity on the team? Or am I reading too much in between the lines?

Hm, a second for Hudler isn't a steep price. He is a very good player. 76 pts last year. Does he fit in?

No you got it. Its the same thing guys like Carpiniello and Brooks, and RB and others have been saying.

The FO knows what's up. They just have a heck of a lot more faith in these guys than the fans on social media. And being professional hockey lifers and around the players everyday, you better believe they have a better gauge on things than a fan with access to internet rumblings and the games :).

The loonie average for this season is just below .77 cents. It was 86 cents last season. Escrow is the issue. The players are getting more than 50%. The 5% inflator raises the cap and the players get destroyed in escrow. They saw 16% of their salaries go into escrow in the first half. 18% this quarter. If the cap was in line with the actual revenue, the players would not have to worry about escrow so much. The choice is a higher cap with more $ lost in escrow or a flat to lower cap with the players keeping their $. They are playing games with oil. They are making the shorts cover and maybe they also go long or people believe in the oil rebound and they go long only to see the bottom fall out which sees everyone lose their shirts.

They are blowing up the team in the summer. Maybe they feel they will recoup any lost assets in other trades.

Like I said earlier in the week, I can buy into a "load up" at the deadline if that means the team is seriously overhauled this summer.

What would be the "serious overhaul" you'd be looking for? (I'll just assume the wonder twins are on the trade list)

Out of these players, who do you trade?
Stepan
Nash
Klein
Kreider
Miller
Brassard
Zucc
Hayes
Lindberg

I pray we can catapult Tanny into the sun, but we're getting at least another year with him.

I'd start with Staal and Girardi and finish with those (2)
