Wondering how Oilers fans would feel about this. Rangers would like another top 10 pick to be able to bolster the farm with top prospects. Edmonton would be able to draft two players who could be solid, cost-controlled parts of McDavid's prime. Would two late firsts be enough for #10?

I don’t think this does it for the Oilers. If that pick is traded, it’s going to be for actual roster player(s). Otherwise they just keep it, no need to downgrade imo if we’re not clearing space or adding a roster player.

Not a terrible offer, but we need wingers and offensive D-man right now. Maybe a pick and somebody ready to play would be better.

Those picks alone would get somewhere in the late teens I assume, not 10OA.

If a roster player (maybe instead of 30OA??) or future 1st was added then maybe

Yeah 25 + 30 does not get you into the Top 10.

It could get you up to ~15th overall but not any higher then that.

For example depending on how the draft goes down and who's on board at #16, I would probably move 16 for 25 and 30 if a couple guys I like in that 15 range are off the board(Kotkaniemi, Denisenko, and Kravtsov being the big 3, Hayton and Lundestrom as well).

If all of those guys were gone I'd probably move down to 25 and 30 in hopes of getting a couple Serron Noel/Martin Kaut/Dominik Bokk/Jet Woo/K'Andre Miller type of prospects in that range.

Rangers would absolutely do Kreider for the 10th overal pick
Russell was in that deal too
Maybe we would, maybe we wouldn’t. I wouldn’t though
I’d rather hold onto those picks(unless someone falls), like everyone has said, doubt we’re getting higher than 15ish for those picks. I’d be open to moving the 2 later ones for a pair of 2nds though if anyone is interested (MTL?)

So yeah, if you have another pick in the 30's up to #40, that would come close to being good enough.

According to that chart, the 1OA is worth a thousand 7th rounders. Let's say that in a league with about 30 teams, that's more than 30 years worth of 7th round picks. Here's what 30 years of 7th round picks (1984-2013) looks like:

Palat-Pavelski-Marchant
Haula-Kamensky-Brouwer
Brunette-Ronning-Axelsson

Braun-Demers
Gunnarsson-Oduya

Lundqvist
Andersen

This isn't really directed at you, I just think it's funny how much early picks are overvalued, and late picks are undervalued across the board.

25 + 30 + 39 would be pretty damn tempting. I'd do it value wise

Oilers are not the team in a great position to do such a trade though
You don't jump 15 spots into the top 10 by dangling what is essentially 2 2nd rounders and a very late first.
