Yeah I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw khans tweet. You'd think they'd start the franchise goaltender in the last game of the season against a potent Islanders offense, especially when the backup has been so bad and had just played the previous game. But nope, they're going with coreau.

Couldn't believe it either when I read your post.

I kinda feel bad for Coreau here, but a shot at a bottom 3 finish is just so huge I can't not love this move.

You could argue they are trying to get Coreau a win. If they were actually 'trying' to lose, they would have kept the young guys from GR up and increase their minutes as well as guys like Frk.

The last game we have to care about for a while! If they lose this one, that's all they need to lose to draft a great player. There's a certain satisfying quality to that.

His contract situation means he'd have to go on LTIR (or be a cap dump trade) if he retired so announcing it early probably isn't likely.

However I can't see him hanging it up this year.. it would be very surprising. Kronwall's last game though? Could very well be.
