As long as no one is wearing 12 or 37 I'll be fine. I know Raffl wore 12 but i wish he wouldn't. It just doesn't feel right seeing anyone other than gagne wear 12, also when timonen is gone I can't see anyone wearing 44 even if it's not retired

After Niinimaa, Pitkanen, and Timonen, they'll simply have a Finnish defenseman quota who wears #44 to fill when Timonen retires.

If #12 wasn't retired after Tim Kerr, Gagne doesn't have the credentials to have to taken out of rotation for him.

Haha maybe, and oh I know he hasn't don't enough, it just feels weird seeing someone else wear it

Ghost wore 3 for Team USA. Wouldn't be surprised if he takes that, or keeps the 34 he wore in prospect camp.

Hagg 41 wouldn't surprise me, but Bellemare might get it first. At which point I'd guess 24 for Hagg.

Umberger I'd guess 18, which he wore in Columbus, but he might go for an open number in the 20s.

Schultz probably 15.

Mr.Read wears 24

In this pic he is wearing #3. My best guess is this is from the Lake Placid summer tournament. In the WJC he was definitley #14.

I'm watching the entire USA v Sweden gold medal game again to see Gostisbehere and Hagg. Both look great, but it's annoying how often Gostisbehere is WIDE OPEN and they don't get the puck to him. Also, Hagg get's his slapper off really fast.

Yeah, I screwed up. Ghost wore 3 in a non-WJC USA tournament.

And I somehow forgot about Read with 24. Pretty bad oversight on my part.

I should add Raffl wears 12, which some people in this thread have forgotten about.

Good call outs.

Still think Ghost will be 3 or 34.

If Bellemare gets 41, I don't know what Hagg will go with. Maybe Ghost 3 and Hagg 34?

nope 93 Voracek.

This helps explain Voracek ans Jagr's numbers:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czech_Republic

Czechoslovakia became a single-party communist state under Soviet influence. In 1968, increasing dissatisfaction with the regime culminated in a reform movement known as the Prague Spring, which ended with an invasion by the armies of the Warsaw Pact countries (with the exception of Romania). Czechoslovakia remained occupied until the 1989 Velvet Revolution, when the communist regime collapsed and a multiparty parliamentary republic was formed. On 1 January 1993, Czechoslovakia peacefully dissolved into its constituent states: the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic.

Hence 68 and 93.

I'm sure this was posted on HFB previously.

34 seems like an odd number for a defender. maybe its just me.
I can see Ghost taking 3.
hopefully he makes Kurtis Foster proud:sarcasm:

14 already kinda is, but 34 would be next up since 4, 14, and 24 are all unavailable. If 4's are this thing.

41 is a retired number, isn't it? Maybe not officially but I think it will be given the Lindbergh treatment moving forward.

Uh, what?

I really have to think it will be 3 or 34 for Ghost. I know he's an Orr fan, hence his like for having 4 in there. But when he wore 3 for Team USA, I have to think 34 would've been open. Don't know that for sure. If I had to throw dice, I'd throw dice on 3. But 34 would be next.

If Bellemare makes the team and takes 41, I don't know what Hagg will choose. Maybe Ghost 3 Hagg 34?

Bellemare listed as 78. Might be headed to the Phantoms.
