No thanks. Don’t need more magic beans, especially at the cost of quality players playing in a position of weakness.
Honest question...do you think RNH re-signs if the Oilers don't make or are knocked out early next playoffs?

If we don’t make it that means it was another shit year and he could be gone. But we’ll make it in and he’ll probably come back. Rarely does anyone wanna stick around here long term but he’s one of the players who actually is committed to the team and the city. The fans love him, the city loves him, and we have McDrai. He will stay.

Your Mind
If RNH comes with a pretty lengthy contract extension I am trading Connor or Ehlers 10/10 times.
The jets could find a winger replacement a lot easier than a Center.
Because they have been looking for a 2C for almost 10 years already....

RNHs value is sky high. Was on fire in the playoffs and was the 5th highest scoring player in the league since the new year.

Quite realistically he isnt available but if he were dealt I think the Oilers would push for an extended RNH++ for Laine or straight up for Connor. It'd be smarter to keep him than deal him for Ehlers. Winnipeg wont want to deal one of their young wingers, but he would be a good prime aged 2C option for them.

He really is a fantastic player who can get overlooked because he is a 1st overall who didn't turn into a superstar.

So your theory is he won’t stay in Edmonton because of a lack of a playoff success, but he would stay in Winnipeg... because...?

No. Roslovic and 10th is an easy no go. That’s just downgrading for the sake of downgrading
It wasn't a theory, it was a question.

We would pay to move him. Probably value wise around a Puljujarvi or 2nd value. That said we don’t have a 2nd. I’d consider 14ov + Neal for a late 1st
All other Hab fans don't want it even 14th and Neal for nil. So, have to give up on that idea. Must be because 5.75 million bring us in free agency.

Edmonton would be adding for Ehlers due to age and contract, not Winnipeg adding.
Yep. Even with RNH resigned long term it would be moronic for the Jets to trade Connor or Ehlers for him. You don’t trade the better, younger player just because he’s a winger and Nuge is a C.

Might be smart of EDM to try and sell RNH to a team as their answer at 2C. You can get a winger and another quality piece back more than likely that they can flip to sort out their depth.

Need to build a top 6 where McDavid and Drai can torture teams on separate lines regularly.

As a Pens fan watching 87 and 71 carry garbage through their primes, do it sooner than later lol.

Plus it just moves the hole from center to wing, all to just get older and more expensive.

Makes zero sense for the Jets to trade a top 6 winger to fill their 2C hole.
It just moves that hole to the wing.

You can't make do with Wheeler, Connor and Laine? Lot easier to find a third wheel in your top 6 than a 2C.
