Why does Minnesota keep making buyer trades??

Gladly would have traded Jost + 118 for Bonino + 37 + 70. That would have been an unreal trade for us.

Then draft Khusnutdinov/Gunler/Heineman at 37 and Smilanic at 70 (to go with our pick of Foudy at 75).

Why does Minnesota keep making buyer trades??

Try to sell at deadline. Handful of players in their last season, they will likely put them in position to get more points than usual(PP time, more mins, etc)...trying to get good returns on Bonino, Bjugstad, Foligno, and marcus johansson towards the deadline. They likely plan on moving on from all of them regardless to continue to get younger.

I doubt Guerin sees his team as a contender. Why not get another top 10 pick(marco rossi was a good pick) to go with Fiala who they got to pan out, looking like he will be apart of their top 6. And their other top prospects. The D is set in Minn. They just had to clear some contracts while getting more assets in the process. Keep adding forwards to fill out that whole lineup basically.

They are also set up now for 4+4 in expansion and they likely only lose a player like Greenway. If they find a taker for Parise, then it's really no worry. Either way, you lose a 3rd pair dman or a third line quality forward. Kaprizov/Rossi don't need protection and will look to be key players as soon as this year.
