Just watched a clip of Stamkos scoring his 40th goal of the season (one of the most electrifying empty net goals of all time by the way) and what do I hear after he scores? Some crappy modern pop. This is blasphemy!

What happened to playing MC Hammer's "U Can't Touch This " every time after Stamkos scores a goal? That song was so perfect for him. It gave him a edge or attitude that other guys don't have when they score. Kind of made it feel like Stamkos was above other players with that song playing after he scores. It was so in your face, some might even call it un-Canadian. Plus that song was the number 1 hit the year Stamkos was born so it's fitting in more than one way...

Do anybody know what the deal here is? Is there some dispute over rights about playing the song? I really hope this is just a one time thing and that we'll hear MC Hammer again tonight against Boston...

No it's still Hammer time.

They just played that song because it was an empty net goal that sealed the game and they always play that song when TB is about to win/wins.

Crisis averted.
