His $4.1m caphit is far from ideal for a no.3 goalie. The Avs couldn't even add him even if they wanted to due to the cap.

Also any goalie the Avs claim on waivers would need to get waived again by the Avs to send them to the AHL, so waiver claims might not be a viable solution.

It is likely that the Coyotes make another waiver claim on a goalie and the only reason that they made a claim on Johansen was cautionary (need for a goalie) and knowing the Avs will take him back.

Michael DiPietro has wanted a fresh start elsewhere but Vancouver would probably need to find a replacement goalie as well.

Handful of teams have six goalies and might have a crowded crease in the minors. But there aren't too many appealing options there.

The Avs are probably good with running Annunen and Miner as the AHL goalies for the Eagles along with Czechia goalkeeper Lukas Parik who would be serving as their 3rd string goalie on an AHL contract.

Parik might be the Utah Grizzlies starter this season but could be recalled to Loveland if Annunen is recalled to Denver.

dont think hes going to be too reliable after his hip surgery. he should return this season but I doubt he will be ready to play as many games as a starter would be expected to

Avs #3 is, will be and should be Annunen. period. #4? who cares? roll with Miner and that AHL contract guy. they are as bad as JJ, so nothing changes really.

actually, there is a change: the Utah Grizzlies became stronger now, since they wont have Miner playing for them.

nothing to worry about. the oilers can't afford the cap hit without sending cap back.

so offer them to take connor mcdavid as a cap dump and you are fine.

The poster is probably referring to whatever pick a C/D prospect is worth. Which typically isn't more than a 4th and probably around a 5th/6th.
