M.A. Fleury

The Penguins get Cammy to play a scoring winger role. Crosby is playing with Kunitz and Jake Guentzel plus they are missing 3 of their starting D

Flames need a goalie, self explanatory

NJD dont give up much but they dont get too much either. Backlund is under contract is under one more year however, and Oliver is a B level prospect. The Devils biggest piece leaving would be Cammy Pitt gives up Fleury and Calgary gives up the 1st. There would be sacrifice on all sides.

I wouldn't move Backlund for Fleury alone, so hell no. Even without knowing whose picks those are.

Backlund has been our best forward all year, and a heart and soul player of this team.

Fleury doesn't even remotely have that kind of value.

Just awful. Sheer awful.

Edit: What the hell is Jersey giving up that has the value of a 1st, Backlund and Kylington? Cammy at 50% and Quincy sure as hell don't.

Calgary
Brutal for the Flames

A 1st, Backlund and Kylington for MAF?

This might be the worst one I've seen in months.

Edit; The more I think about it, the more offended I am

Pitt also wants nothing to do with this trade because I assume those Pitt's 1st and 2nd rounders, no?

Cammy is not the guy for us and neither is Quincey

Might be the worst proposal I've ever seen.

Flames get absolutely FLEECED. Treliving would be fired on the spot.

Brutal - and I mean BRUTAL - trade for the Flames

Trade should be closer to CGY 2nd for MAF, yet somehow a third-wheel in NJ ends up with a 1st + Backlund + Kylington.

Bravo

Flames wouldn't trade any of a 1st, Backlund or Kylington straight up for Fleury or even Cammalleri. Or even combined.

This is so bad it's actually hilarious

Might be the worst proposal I've ever seen.

Fired? He's more likely to die of laughter than drink enough beer to even consider this one

It's actually Calgary's 1st.

It's incredible how bad this is

Usually trades are suggested on this board by a poster who is a fan of at least one of the teams involved, and there is inherent bias towards their own team.

But when you have a trade proposal from a fan of none of the teams and very clearly knows little about each organization's valuation of their respective roster members, you get this kind of train wreck instead.

I didn't even look a good look at the assets each team was getting but now that I have...

NJ gets a 1st, Kylington, AND Backlund???:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

So in other words, NJ makes one of the most lopsided trades in the last decade in their favor, while Calgary makes one of the worst trades in their history as a franchise. Awesome :laugh:

Not even gonna comment on Pittsburgh.

Pay double what we paid for Hamilton for a mediocre goalie that Pittsburgh needs to get rid of. Makes sense.

It says the 1st is Calgary's and the 2nd is going to Pittsburgh, so not sure why you would think that.

Ugly for Calgary they laugh and hang up the phone.

Fleury doesn't have anywhere near that kind of value. I agree with the above he would probably fetch a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I enjoy reading hfboards for the different opinions, but this trade was bad enough for Calgary that I simply couldn't stay silent any longer.

Really bad...

At first I was pleasantly surprised that you didn't include Hamilton in the ask. Then I scrolled down and saw what Calgary's return would be

Devils come out like bandits here. Who are giving up the picks here? That would help make more sense of this proposal. That will just determine if it's comically bad for the Flames or even worse for the Flames.

Let's just make it simpler. The Flames are rumored to be willing to find a goalie upgrade. JR wants to bring in a PK specialist to help there. Fleury for Elliott and Engelland, just keep New Jersey out of this.
