You never know, but I am not that worried about that hit. Big possibility that it’s more of a strain that should be OK after a couple of weeks...

Are you the Rangers fan? Did you forget what happened this season? Or is it all gone with JD, Gorton, Quinn and his coaching staff?

Nils landed awkwardly, I'm guessing that's where the damage was done not the hit itself.

agree with this, really nothing about that contact would be likely to cause injury, leg was in the air...didn't even make hard contact. possible something pulled getting opened up like that, most likely inside of right knee as he came down which is probably / hopefully just something with the mcl. most guys are fine in a few weeks, at his age if its just that shouldn't be much of an issue at all.

as for hit idno how anyone would view it as dirty or even reckless...what was baertschy supposed to do? he's chasing a puck, nils turns up ice into him, he's clearly stopping / only focused on the puck not attempting a hipper. he even jumps away from contact as it happens, had it been his intention nils knee/leg could be perfectly fine the whole time he'd spend eating meals through a straw. just an unfortunate hockey play/outcome, theres no villain here. if anything this was on nils, idno what went through his head there...the camera angle wasn't great for identifying the injury but it gives a great angle seeing him turn with his eyes up ice and completely miss the threat coming down the wall at him. he didn't lose an edge, he realized the situation too late and was cutting too hard to be able to jump inside the contact with body control, but he was attempting to get weight off his right leg for sure and brace for it bringing his hands upwards into the contact, only hope by the time he saw it coming was get his weight onto his left skate and try to bounce/spin off it. things did not go as planned. honestly probably in his best interest to have a lesson like this learned with it being a baertschy clipping him as opposed to a tom wilson coming down that wall, he'd probably be in a coma.

New York Rangers are banking on Braden Schneider and Nils Lundkvist long-term - EP Rinkside

NHL teams are always looking for a right-shot defenceman. The New York Rangers already have a Norris Trophy-calibre one in Adam Fox, and soon they will be adding Nils Lundkvist and Braden Schneider, both are right-handed as well....

... This talented Swede has a knack for holding on to the puck to make the right play. He’s patient ...

...Schneider is known for his punishing hits and solid defence. Even though he’s 6-2, 202 pounds, he's only 20 years old so his man-strength isn’t quite there yet. He’s a massive competitor, and that can get him far even this season...

You guys are still talking about Lundkvist, time to move on. :sarcasm:

Just being stupid, it's not a rare lastname in Sweden, we probably have like hmm 20 000 of them, slightly different spellings though.

Actually, Nils is a top talent (even by Swedish defensive standards) and I'm looking forward following him. I truly believe he has star potential.
