Don't think it was the fight so much as it was the Hawks already having Keith, Zadorov, and De Haan all on the left side, with Beaudin, Carlsson, and Kalynuk all being young lefties as well vying for a spot in case of injury/illness/trade.

For LHDs, Seeler was maybe (MAYBE) our 7th best.

This team is soft as a baby's bottom. And they lose every game. Might as well bash some heads if you're gonna lose anyway.

It doesn't have to be Seeler, but anybody with a semblance of toughness would be nice.

Seeler was terrible and would not help the team. Fighting and tough play that put you out of position would not help this team. Seeler provided nothing.

Seeler was not terrible and of course fighting helps. Toughness might be the only way a team this talentless could win hockey games. At they very least it'd make games worth watching.
