The Oilers are looking for improvements to their bottom six still. Holland is expected to go after someone as a UFA for that purpose. Ritchie would be a welcome addition, bumping Shore off the 4th line.

If Holland can find a trading partner for Kassian and his $3.2 Million dollar contract, say for a 5th or 6th, he'd have room to add Ritchie and maybe even Kase as a RW, moving Yamamoto or Puljujarvi out of the top six and Archibald to the 4th line. Just a thought.

Ritchie has been a huge disappointment in Boston. He is a big and strong player but barely hits, most of the time he floats around and stand in front of the opposite goal like a pylon. Glad the Bruins did not qualified him, he just is not good enough for a good team.

The Bruins actually won the Ritchie/Heinen trade FWIW. He was decent last year, not a huge disappointment, won the 7th player award. But, yes, he leaves you wanting more for sure.

Kind of hard to call a winner when both players were just cut loose.

It is believed he visited with the Leafs on Thursday according to Seravelli on the DFO podcast. We'll see...

What would be wrong with signing Nick Ritchie? he would replace Foligno and Given that Foligno barely played it would be very very hard for Ritchie not to be an upgrade
It.s the end of the line for every player that plays for the leafs...way she goes!

Nick Ritchie not qualified to play NHL hockey or not qualified by the Bruins?
