Way, way too much for Paul. I love Paul’s game but he is a 2M player max.
He's basically Derek Grant with more consistency, upside, and intangibles, who signed 1.5 mil x 3 years last summer at 30 years of age after back to back 20+ pt seasons with 40ish games played. Jesper Fast is a 30 pt checking line player for Carolina who also PKs who just signed 3 years at 2mil per.

For all he brings, 2.5 mil x 3 years is probably fair, and if he wants to bet on himself to be a 3 million player, you offer her 2.0 mil x 2 years and leave it on the table while he shops in UFA.

Hyman is like a physical Connor Brown, extremely valuable. Not comparable with Paul

Zack Smith got 3.25 AAV x 4 years after scoring 25 goals. He was 28 y/o, very solid 3rd liner in his prime. Unfortunately, he started declining when his new contract started

Paul is a bit younger but he doesn't have a lot of arguments to get over 3.0

Paul is a minimum $3 million over 4 years and will probably get 6 x $3.25 on the open market

Easily - teams get a lot more value out of spending $3 million like that than say $5 million on a Dadonov or White type 2ND/2PP type player.
