Basically Political Rubbish. Yes for all purposes Hansen can still proceed. Good luck to him.
1. Hansen isn't on good terms with the NBA. So he isn't bringing an NBA team to any arena nor does
he have ownership group in place to do so.
2. There still is the issue of the street vacation for the SODO project.
3.Hansen's arena isn't 100% privately financed and the city isn't giving any tax considerations etc.

The only thing this does is get Q13 Fox reporter Aaron Levine fired up to yak about SODO again and again.
Yes, there is a chance, so slightly that its not measurable, but Hansen and Levine can keep preaching.

Report: Mayor Durkan says 2nd Seattle arena is not out

Why does Seattle need this new arena now?

We need it now cause we have a NHL team coming. The only point of Durkan's comment is to push OVG to get that NBA team. She's using sodo arena as leverage to make sure OVG does what they say in getting that NBA team.

Sodo arena is 100% private. The MOU is dead and has expired. Even hansen said its now 100% private.

Levine needs to chill and move on and stop beating the sodo arena drum cause its not happening.

Oak View Group unveils design tweak for new arena at Seattle Center

The design changes on the arena that were discussed here a couple of days ago were officially presented to the Seattle Design Commission by Oak View yesterday. It is mentioned that they hope they can start construction in November.

Nice digging by DetroitHockey.net:

Possible Seattle NHL Team Names: Evergreens? Kraken?

By my count, 38 domains representing 13 different possible names were registered under the name of Christina Song. Ms. Song, according to her LinkedIn profile, is General Counsel at Oak View Group, who won the bid to redevelop Seattle’s Key Arena on December 4. The domains were registered via an email address for a lawyer at Gibson Dunn. That firm assisted Oak View Group in the Key Arena bid process.
Does this mean that one of the 13 names is certain to take the ice for the NHL’s 2020-21 season? No. The franchise hasn’t even been applied for yet. The ownership group hasn’t even been formed (though names that might be involved have been tossed around). There is the distinct possibility that this is nothing.
That said, someone so close to the process applying for so many related domains is worth noting. As such, here are the 13 possibilities:
Seattle Cougars
Seattle Eagles
Seattle Emeralds
Seattle Evergreens
Seattle Firebirds
Seattle Kraken
Seattle Rainiers
Seattle Renegades
Seattle Sea Lions
Seattle Seals
Seattle Sockeyes
Seattle Totems
Seattle Whales

oh good god its ridiculous that kraken even made that list. Its a joke.

.... thats just a blog, the blogster Clark Rasmussens' musings pursuant to possible nicknames. I'm not seeing "Kraken" ever seeing the light of day.... and he's got a few others in there as well that wont be making the cut either. "Firebirds" for example.

Its a blog, but OVG registered domains with the Kraken name. These aren't his opinions.

For some reason 'Renegades' doesn't sound so bad. Not sure how it relates to Seattle but I kind of like it.

... then you, yes YOU super d... you need to go have a word with OVG.... explain to them that their in Seattle.... not Anaheim.... not in Orlando.... most certainly not in Toon Town.... that if they dont Cease & Desist with the Moron Nicknames... that then yes, yes a Steinway Jumbo Grand Piano might very well might drop on their thick skulls from a clear blue sky... strolling through Pioneer Square or wherever. You idiots will indeed become of the concrete, part of the building materials in our fine city. Permanently. Savvy? :madfire:

As VGK didn't take knights over OHL team usage, doubt any WHL team would do it either.

Knights was apparently never approached as an option.

Black Knights was an issue with the Army, so Foley went right to Golden Knights, supposedly after attorney okay. The Army connection was important.
