Great draft for the Senators! A lot of emphasis on speed and seems they got a couple players that they rated very high.

Every draft is going to look good because you are adding players.
Compare it to what other teams added to get your measurement.
The senators likely fell behind a lot of teams this weekend.

Of course they did, they had no 1st and generally less picks than other teams. Since the players haven't had a chance to improve their status, the positions they were ranked/drafted in is all we really have to go on.
That said, with how happy the scouts seemed, I bet they feel they kept pace. They had their 2nd as 1st round quality, and one of their 7th picks as much higher too.
The truth is, we'll know if it was a good draft in 2-3 years.

draft lists look the same or close at least for maybe the top 100 but once it gets into the 5-7 rounds lists are so different per team, i bet guys that went to one team in the 5th weren't even inconsideration to be drafted at all by some others.
