Too much credit to forwards, not enough credit to D. Only Jones makes the top 9? Zadorov doesn't even make the 1st round? To these defensemen who've established themselves as top-4 guys, it's practically an insult.

It doesn't matter if its 5 years or not, at least on HFBoards because there is really too much recency bias here.

A D-man playing 26.30minutes per game (4th most in the NHL) is not the 2nd best D in the draft according to OP just because his whole team has been a trainwreck ever since he was drafted.

Top 4 of that draft is stacked. People may think Monahan is a tier below Mac or Barkov but he has the most goals scored in the draft class, only 20 points behind MacKinnon (he lead the class for 2+ years until Mac broke out this year). 3 legit #1 centers in that draft and a #1 d-man.

Sucks to think Flames had 3 picks in the top 30 (and now have 5 of the top 30 picked players) and outside of Monahan they're all busts or close to it. What a waste.

I'd like to see Guentzel do anything at all without Crosby before putting him top 10. This guy owes his career to Crosby
