Excited to see what they do with prospects like McEichel and Marner. Hope they fix alot of the drafting though. Marner half the time went at the end of the 1st round and guys like Yan would be elite?

I find it an odd coincidence that most of these roster players had the same ratings in NHL 15 after a year one sim.

They've been saying for a while that they had individual talent but didn't play as a team

For the most part I agree with the top end talent besides Bozak. Maybe take 1 rating for a few (JVR, Phaneuf).

The ones who got the bump to be playable imo were the 80-84s. Didn't think that was very accurate.

They gave the Leafs a good rating bump so the team would still be playable. Lets be honest, the Leafs actually look like a decent team according to EA.

Their actually a lot better in the game. Their OA ratings are within ranges of teams such as LA, Tampa, and STL, no joke.

Leafs OFF 90, DEF 91, GOA 87

Kings OFF 89, DEF 91, GOA 94

Lightning OFF 92, DEF 92, GOA 88

Blues OFF 92?, DEF 92?, GOA 87

Still have no idea how EA calculates team OA.

Maybe EA is getting too caught up in analytics.

Damn, whoever did these ratings must have been one huge Leafs homer

I remember a few years ago, almost every NYI prospect had insane potential and they always became a powerhouse. Most, if not all, of those prospects busted.

Sometimes EA is just EA...

But I do miss their NCAA Football games, man were those awesome.

The Rielly rating makes some sense.

He's a fantastic skater, and speed, acceleration, agility all weigh heavily into a players overall. Probably has a solid amount of points in the stats that push the overall up more.

Looking at the star categories, his defense was 1 star too high and his puck skills category could have been a half-star lower. He's an exceptional talent but, like most young players, he has kinks in his game. I would have expected that 87 he got not be for the 2015-2016 campaign but as a progression to the 2016-2017 season.

Also I wasn't a fan of Kadri's rating either. The skating and defense star ratings should be switched. Nor was I a fan of the through the roof ratings our players got in general... 88 for JvR?

Lol vegetable

Reilly was arguably the leafs best player. Last year.
Better then Gardiner for sure
85/86 range imo

These ratings will make rebuilding the leafs a lot easier :)

So by EA standards, JVR is our best player. If that's really the case, we're so bad.

The 84 to 86 ratings might be the average rating for most nhl players in the game so who knows.

But the 90+ team offence and defense is hilarious.

Well done, although every player is arguable within 1 OV point. That said, I'm not really looking forward to editing everything like I always do. In my opinion, if you want to get the most out of the game, play it as honestly as possible.

More like that anyone expected to play at the NHL level is between 80-86. And then you have stars above it, and AHL below.

EA sports have no differentiation in their ratings. Which doesn't matter much when the difference in skill makes as little difference as they have lately.

Exactly. It's why I like NBA 2k15 ratings so much. Right now, there are only 4 players above 90 ratings, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul and Tim Duncan. In the NHL trailer, I saw like 15 more with 90 + ratings. If it was up to me, these would be the Leafs ratings.

90 + (Franchise players)
85-89 (Elite Players/Goaltenders)
80-84 (Typical First Liners/Pairings/Starting Goaltenders)
70-79 (Second Liners/Pairings/1B Goaltender)
60-69 (Third Liners/Pairings/Backups)
50-59 (Fourth Liners/Extra Dman/Journeyman Goaltender)
1-49 (Everyone else)

Goaltender:
Jonathan Bernier - 82
James Reimer - 72

Defenseman:
Morgan Rielly - 72
Dion Phaneuf - 80
Jake Gardiner - 75
Roman Polak - 70
Stephen Robidas - 62
Martin Marincin - 60
Matt Hunwick - 55

Leo Komarov - 67
Nick Spaling - 61
PA. Parenteau - 70
Richard Panik - 65
Peter Holland - 65

The only problem here is that some people don't like the ratings that low for some players and I can see some changing them to the 80s, anyways.
