Is EA just trying to be nice to the players by giving just about all of them an 80+ rating? What's the point of even having /100 ratings at this point?

Give the players letter grades and everyone in the game is an A.

Heh yeah. They even give Kessel, Raymond and guys like them 80+ in body checking. Much sense was made.

EA has been kind to the Leafs.

lol, I remember one time when I traded Clarky (like 500k retained) for Charlie Coyle (who had a very high potential rating) and some other good prospect. Coyle ended up being a pivotal top 6 player for me, while Clarkson was Clarkson.

EA definitely needs to tweak the trade system.

Really hope they can atleast change the progressions on some of the elite players. Nylander doesnt take 4 seasons to reach an 80. Guaranteed first update he moves up to atleast a 75+. Lupul still being an 86 is a gift from god. Durability is probably 36 haha

I haven't played these games in years but that looks like an awful lot of 80s. Weren't 80s given mainly to star players?

Because of the online play component for competition (and perhaps because the union wouldn't like it) nobody is really given bad ratings anymore. There has been a massive smoothing of ratings over the years so everything blends into a mainly homogeneous puddle.

That said players that are definitely rated too high:

Bozak, Robidas (81 lol), Horton (85 for a guy who hasn't played in over a year), and Lupul

The rest of the ratings I could probably let slide as a judgement call

Adding the junior/pro leagues haven't helped. It changed the ratings from NHL only to basically the whole hockey population of Junior +.

My brother and I did a Be A Pro with Clarky. It's fun running around like a lunatic and fighting everyone after they hit somebody.

Leafs are always overrated on EA games. Me thinks whoever does the ratings bleeds blue. I already have my cooy for PS4 preordered and I can't wait to try it out! Anything should beat nhl15 though!

I love morgs as much as anybody else in leafs nation but I don't have a single idea how he is rated an 87. Looking at last year's rankings, Brett Burns was an 87 and Reilly is not at a Brett Burns level yet. Should be a 85 IMO. And also with Phaneuf I believe that he is an 86 because NHL 16 seems to be inflating the ratings a bit. 84-85 IMO

I don't think they bleed blue. I think their data indicates that the majority of their customers are Leafs fans and they want their fans to be happy.

Where did you find the new version of EHM?

Like Nith said, from Steam.... (Steam is the most annoying part of the game)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/301120/

It is early access, which is like a alpha/beta of a game, but when you get early access, you are guaranteed the full finished game at no cost.

I honestly haven't noticed many bug, just very small things that seem to fix themselves over time.

But for $16 or $17 (Thats CDN too, not USD) can't go wrong, it's the best by far for "Common sense and logic"

Waiting on the next updated rosters now so I can get Babcock,Lou, etc.....

I used my CC, but I noticed you could pay with pay pal and like 20 other options that I never use.

But it blows FHM out of the water, and I paid, I think, $25-$28 for that One.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

Biggest hockey Market, most fans, and we don't want too play with a crap team, so they give them a boost.

Good luck dumping Clarksons contract when he is rated a 60

Just wait until the first roster update. The ratings will be totally different.

When they first created GM Connected, this site had a GM Game thread for whoever wanted to join the league before the game came out. They also had a list of all the player ratings from every team. So everyone online talked trades and I had a deal for Nash (89 OVR) and Kreider (83 OVR).

By the time the game came out they had a roster update and Nash was an 86 and Kreider was a 76.

Mo will probably drop to an 84, Gards to an 83, Lupul to 84. Also, Bozak should drop to an 82-ish.

I wish they'd just make the ratings like FIFA does. Should see a lot more 70s and the better players in the 80s.

I wish they'd use a fuller spectrum of 50-100

LIke with in 3 of each other...

Tyler Bozak - 86
Joffrey Lupul - 86
Nazem Kadri - 86
Nathan Horton - 85
Daniel Winnik - 84
Shawn Matthias - 84
Leo Komarov - 83

Thats insane that all those guys are practically indistinguishable OA.

Make 4th or 3rd liners 60's
Make AHL guys 50's
Make Jr guys 40's
etc...
