As a Caniac who doesn't live in the Triangle, I'm buying ESPN+ this season because I know we'll get at least 10 games due to them likely having to use the "less glamorous" teams to make that service worth it.

For the 38th season, NHL on NBC will only have ONE game featuring Svechnikov.

*Road game? Check!
*Game against a team with NBC Sports affliliate? Check!
*Potentially pre-empted due to Carolina being out of playoffs? Most likely.

ESPN+ doesn't have any NHL games, I thought? Get just NHL Gamecenter.

Do you have a link to the list? I can’t find it.

I think he's referring to the THN list that was posted on the main board.

You can pick at a name here or a name there, but before putting an Aho, Slavin or Hamilton on there, you have to consider Pietrangelo, Suter, Draisaitl, Stone, Getzlaf, etc., who were notable omissions. Even looking at it through black and red colored glasses, I don't think it's unfair to not have a Carolina player on the list. For as good as Aho was last season, he wasn't a Top 40 point producer. Slavin's offense isn't up to par for this type of list and Hamilton's defense apparently isn't either.

Eric Staal continues to be one of the most underrated players alive.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I don’t think we have one of the top 50 players, maybe even top 60. Which says a lot about how this team has been rebuilt, considering it logically means that an average team has 2 players better than our best.

Aho is a top 50 player, Slavin is a top 50 player.

We don’t have a market share on coverage.

You put Slavin on Pitt, Leafs, or any of the other National covered team, he would have Norris voting and accolades left and right.

Aho or Slavin can be a top-50 player on Pittsburgh and a #50-100 player on Carolina. That is the benefit afforded when a player has the opportunity to showcase their talent and win something that matters.

There are only 9 defensemen on the list. The worst are Josi, Carlson, and Byfuglien. Giordano, Suter, Pietrangelo were left off. Slavin could be playing on any team and would not belong ahead of that group.

Aho has a better case but it’s really darn close and he looks like a safer bet for the 50-60 range than 40-50.

The Athletic Carolina is live. Right now it's three who is covering Panthers, Hornets and Big 4 in college. Still no one on Canes, but will probably come soon.
