Well I am back with yet another jersey concept. This time, I am making a series of Adidas rebrand concepts for all 30 NHL teams.
I will be taking into account recent team politics, new jerseys, new branding, team branding, team history, etc to fix the NHL. I will be taking a safe, inside the box approach to each redesign as if it were done professionally and not as a hobby.
Glad to say there will be no ads, no stripes, and no restrictions on designs, meaning designs that were possible prior to the RBK Edge jersey will once again be plausible (Dallas Stars old uniform amongst others).
I will try and make at least one concept per week as a minimum, but expect more than one a week.
Would love feedback on the series in general.
For this first concept, I chose to fix the Islanders. With the move to Brooklyn, the "I" pointing to the location of the Coliseum is no longer a feature that is needed in the logo. I did not design this logo, but I love it. It works perfectly. Keeps the original branding pretty close to intact. Honors the history of the Islanders with 4 stars representing each Stanley Cup. Has 1972 representing the inaugural season of the club. Simple, safe design. The new 3rd jersey keeps things Islanders-y but with a small Brooklyn-y twist while not going over the top.
