So instead of a bus ride for call-ups, the Canadiens would just dispatch a barge to Trois-Rivières? :badidea:

I mean all three teams are close by, Trois-Rivières and Montréal are 2 hours with car with traffic. Quebec province populations mostly live along St. Lawrence River so like Buffalo having hypothetical farm teams in Rochester and Syracuse along New York Route 90.

How far from the AHL and NHL team are they is it like. How philly's set up is at the moment where the teams are under like a 45 mile blanket or farther ?

It's only around 1 hour 30 minutes to Laval and Montreal with car. Laval and Montréal are 20 minutes away from each other. Philadelphia-Lehigh Valley-Reading all have about an 1 1/2 hour distance with car, is not very far, is very similar to potential Montréal-Laval-Trois-Rivières.

Is there any more info on this arena? I can't seem to find anything online about it.

Right, because it's REALLY important to have your minor league team far enough away...
Sincerely, -The San Jose Sharks & Toronto Maple Leafs

Yeah, because it’s not like San José Barracuda are third to last in the AHL for attendance and Toronto definitely isn’t a massive metro area that is equally wealthy and obsessed with hockey. Without a doubt the biggest hockey market in the world and has a history of supporting hockey of many levels.

Get real, guy.

San Jose is one of the most apathetic clubs when it comes to the ahl. They Could not care less if they lose every single game and draw less then 1000 people in the sap center as long as they develop quality NHL players.

Ymijon certainly didn't use the best examples. San José has the benefit of billionaire ownership in the form of Hasso Plattner. He wouldn't care if the AHL boys played in an empty rec rink in Nebraska as long as they were becoming NHL-ready.

Roy Sommer Hockey Stats and Profile at hockeydb.com

18 years and one round 3 appearance for long time Sharks AHL coach Roy Sommer. The Sharks have been a pretty successful NHL franchise and their model of player development appears to be reasonable. They obviously don't care about AHL playoff success.

As far as losses go, IIRC the owner of the Sharks is worth over $10 billion so a multi million loss on his AHL team matters not at all to him.

Never say never. They may not move this year or next, but 5 or 10 years down the line you never know what could happen.
you don't do what McDonald and his partnership did it wasn't clear if Newfoundland nor convincing Toronto, to return to Mile One, Tater, would even be accepted
