Isn't Larsson back tonight?

BTW, It almost looks like a traditional GDT thread...I like it.

He skated with the team this morning. Not sure who's coming out for him, maybe Harrold?

Sislo also called up, Ryder might sit.

Nice GDT....Rooting for you guys to win tonight, really like what I'm seeing from this Kinkaid kid (His family is neighbors to one of my colleagues at work, says they are great people), very good positioning and reactionary skills, seems to be giving you guys a chance to win, quite envious actually. Good luck tonight.

Six points back of Washington with them having three games in hand...the only way this could be more of a must-win is if it was an elimination game in a playoff series.

Agreed. It would also be good if the Devils could gather some real momentum from a winning streak of two consecutive games. Part of this team's problems is probably the mental and emotional hurdle of struggling to put up consecutive wins.

Lou Lamoriello: Bring me everyone.

Rick Kowalsky: What do you mean "everyone"?

Thoughts on the standings:

-We leapfrogged three teams with that win last night.

-Tonight is the last of an 8-games-in-13-nights stretch. We've won two of them so far.

-The Rangers have five games in hand on us.

-I will almost guarantee that this team goes on a meaningless 8-game winning streak in late March that spoils our draft position. It would be such a Devils thing to do.

I smell a long winning streak coming on now. They are due for one.

I think it's safe to say that if the Devils don't get TWO points(not one) tonight, forget about any illusion of "hope" of the Devils getting back into the playoff chase.

And frankly, I'm torn because we get on a winning streak, we could conceivably get back in the playoff hunt but at the same time we make our Draft pick more worthless.....

I could imagine Lou's response just being that glare of his and Kowalsky just "ok ok!"

Lou with the "You're going to die" look.

Wish he'd use that on Pete but I digress....

By the way, if you are going to the game tonight, bring a winter coat to donate and you get a free ticket voucher for an upcoming game. I actually did the food drive one before thanksgiving and got tickets to last nights game in section 15!

sign me up.

from TG:

It's also possible Michael Ryder could take a seat tonight. Ryder, who has no goals in his last 20 games, was called for four minors Friday, including three in the third period and the double minor for high sticking.

Yuck. Even Pete can't ignore this level of suck-itude. :shakehead

Yikes!!! I know the ghost was called for a double minor but he had 4 total?! :shakehead

That's it, I'm taking him out of the lineup now.

The dive penalty was ******** and he shouldn't have even been called for it.

The others were bad, that high sticking one was really careless and easily avoidable.

Anyone worried about Camm long term? The dude has been awesome but can he ever stay healthy, what's he going to be like a few years down the road?

I think the biggest question mark with the Camm deal was health, but I hope that in a couple of years our forward line-up will be stronger, allowing us to deploy Camm in more of a depth scoring role, so that his absences for health reasons will cause less of an issue for the team. And if his absences due to health reasons are causing the team issues down the road, I guess having Camm around would still be a good thing, since he'd probably be one of the team's leading scorers even with all the health issues. Hopefully the former will be the case and not the latter, though.

His injury woes are disappointing but expected. He's a difference maker when in the lineup, but ideally a team wouldn't be leaning on his as the top forward. This team won't have any situations resembling "ideal" in regards to the forwards for at least 4-5 years.

In short: I don't think it matters too much because the team around him will be so awful. There will be a few lean years of Cam, Zajac, and Henrique holding the fort while the rest of the F lineup is in full rebuild.
