Ehhh the Habs are good. It is what it is. We don't have the horses.

Enjoy the home wins against the crap teams, maybe we get lucky at the lotto. If not we draft Zacha or Barzal and move on.

Team is to far out to make a run and isn't bad enough to get a high pick (plus tanking is for chumps).

Expect these games on the road and enjoy the home wins.

Gelinas can replace Fraser...

It doesn't even really matter if you put him in the lineup, it's not like Oates'll let him run his PP. At this point we'd probably be better off with Hegelson-Harrold until Severson gets back :P

Ya I'm over Frasier. I apperciated the bump he gave with his scraps, but he as overstayed his welcome.

Hulk at least has a potential future and can he developed.

The sad part about this Fraser mancrush is it makes me more convinced if Sal can walk they'll offer him a contract this offseason. It's like they're playing Fraser cause they're dying for at least a poor man's version of Sal and clearly they don't feel Hulk is it.

They bought Volch out. I think it's just a current season thing.

There is an overall trend to letting more and more kids take over. Hulk, Scarlett, and Hranbanka will have chances in camp to make the team.

Plus I still think Lou tries to bring in Odyua.

They could always bring Volch back too on a less onerous contract this offseason  Doubt that happens though.

Even if they bring Oduya back they'll still want a thumper.

They will let a kid try and fill that role. Frasier I see as just a short term try to get wins right now solution.

He is a product of Lou refusing to tank. It's frustrating short term but I'm not worried long term.

Gely is the odd kid out at this point antway. I honestly don't believe he is here post deadline.

Him and Ryder will be gone.

A plus over Pete is Lou didn't ignore what changed the game around.

He flat out said it was a bad penality Zubs took and it changed the game.

Pete would of stubbled through 5 minutes of its a tough building and issued excuses.

It's not enough that Zubrus can't do better than 12 points a year or has only scored half as many goals as Jordin Tootoo this year, he has to take these momentum changing offensive zone penalties.

Very similar to the one he took against the Islanders a few weeks back. We were leading in that game too at the time.

Having Ruutu, Zubrus, and Matteau all here next year is just too redundant. Buyout Zubrus and let Matteau take that spot.

Don't care if we have to have his cap hit count against the cap. We don't necessarily need the money. We just need his spot. He is too much of an offensive liability to play in the top 9.

Most of our 4th liners are on pace for more points than that.

I wanted this about 3 or 4 weeks ago.

I NEVER wanted Fraser back. I was furious when they signed him because I knew it was a matter of time before that scrub was back on the team taking a spot from someone who might actually, you know, be good or be part of the future of this team. What does Lou see in him? The guy was literally never good. Ever. I get that Gelinas has struggled big time, and his D isn't really much better than Frasers is right now, but at least he has other elements to his game. He can skate and he produces points. It's better than just sucking in every conceivable way.

Sadly that's more or less what I've been doing since about New Year's

And since I've been AT most of them it prevents me from dealing with the broadcast's foibles.

Then you should be having the most fun. Wins without dano blubbering or Steve making **** up.

More or less although I also missed the two WC games they won and listened to the radio for most of the game in Anaheim where they got curbstomped. Other than the WC, one Thursday game in Boston I couldn't watch and tonight which I didn't watch, there haven't actually been any other road games since New Year's (which I also couldn't watch being at New Year's party). Honestly the last road game I watched from start to finish was the Ranger one after the coaching change.

This is season is like your house catching on fire, and your dog is trapped inside. You're probably better off saving yourself and not worrying about your dog, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't go back in and try to rescue it.

Agreed.

Myself and a few others (possibly yourself) were talking about how bad it was. And a few people were telling us to calm down cause it's not like he'll see any NHL time.

And Zubrus really needs to be gone after this year.

This year he's been a complete massacre.

You can sign someone for $700k a year to replace what he currently brings.

People always said he was never about points but the funny thing was, he was at least close enough to a 0.5 PPG player in those years or even better. And he was signed to a contract at good value.

Now he produces at a clip of approximately 12 points a season and is being paid $300k less per year. And Jordin Tootoo has twice as many goals as him.

I refuse to see what he brings to this team anymore. Good penalty killing? We were getting good penalty killing out of Sislo and Tostitos when they were up too.

I'm also not suggesting we replace him with either of those guys, because they are the only forwards that have played for us that have been worse offensively. Just using them for the argument that Zubrus is such a great PKer.

But if Fraser makes us worse, shouldn't the people complaining about blowing our draft position be happy he's playing?:sarcasm:

Zubrus and Jagr need to be split up

Their speed brings the entire team on the ice's pace of play down

What would you guys want for Gélinas?

A young forward that has some NHL experience and proven to be able to score....like Gelinas has.

Edit: I wouldn't even entertain the idea of picks or undeveloped prospects...you don't spend 5 years developing a player then trade him for a player or asset that needs another 3-5 years development.... that is moving backwards.
