DeBoer: "(We were) hanging on, but I don't care at this point. We just need points. It's a tough building against a desperate team."

Only Peter DeBoer would call a half full arena on a Monday night in December to the worst team in the league a "tough building"

It's amazing that people actually take most of the things that come out of the mouths of the players, coaches, and Lou seriously

Most of the guys use the same go to cliches every single game

People don't like Pete, so it's the cool thing to do to point out that he uses the same cliche every game as if he really is serious

Since when has anybody in this organization given the media anything of substance?

Pretty much why I never watch any press conferences or interviews. Lou has taught them all well how to not give away anything. Plus, it's hockey. It's part of the culture to speak in cliches.

I think what endears NJ/NYers to a guy like Rex Ryan is that there is emotion and passion in his press conferences despite that a cliche or two gets thrown in there.

People like Pete and Lou are frustrating. When they're winning, who cares about how clammed up they may be, they're winning. When they're losing, then it becomes a question of, "Do they understand the frustration level we fans feel"? Could you please put an inflection and vary the tone of your voice when you talk to the media/fans?

It's why I don't listen to a Pete DeBoer press conference. You're going to get the same thing every time.

Rex understands emotion and it's why he has so many defenders, despite the team being 2-11.

I couldn't tell you the last time I've watched a pre or post game, you aren't going to hear anything you haven't heard before other than a joke from Jagr or some other good insight from him

I'll just go pop groundhog day in instead, it'll be the same thing as a pre or post game anyway

Could you please put an inflection and vary the tone of your voice when you talk to the media/fans. So many liars to the press put out monotone prepared statements to shoo them away. It seems that's what Pete and Lou do.

Rex knows this and it's why he has so many defenders, despite the team being 2-11.

If you think professional athletes or management responsible for what is on the playing surface care about what fans think, then I can't help ya there

There is a reason we are watching and they are the ones involved

I don't care to hear much from any players, coaches, management, etc, just give me results, just ****ing win and bring on the next one....if they lose it sucks, but what are you gunna do, come out better and bring on the next one and so on

They care. If they didn't, then you wouldn't hear about incidences of athlete/fan verbal exchanges after games.

Management certainly cares when tickets don't get sold. That is the ultimate indictment of fan thinking.

That's just heat of the moment crap and as I mentioned, I was talking about management responsible for what goes on for the playing surface meaning guys like Lou

Hey guys... who cares! Really though, we had a very similar game against the Islanders, you win those type of games and lose them sometimes.

Schneider was flat out awesome tonight. No softies, no adventures. Just great to see. This was a beautiful game from him.

Watched the highlights. I'm amazed by Gomez. He's my entertainment on this team and has easily become my favorite forward next to Cammi.

Cory seemed to have had a really really good game. Props. Should have gotten some recognition when the disparity in shots is that dramatic. (3 stars)

We also have no idea what is said and done behind closed doors. Being a gong show like the Jets or John Tortorella (no matter how much he screamed or reamed his players publicly the NY fans only liked him when he won) or having a press conference like the Oilers did last week saying how things weren't acceptable is lip service and accomplishes nothing for the most part.

It's crazy, the more forwards you take off this team the more games they win.

I can't wait to get reamed up the ass by Chicago tomorrow.

I also can't wait for the Devils to actually shock us and be "competitive"(aka Cory standing on his head again) and manage to take the hawks to OT(where we then lose in the shootout). :sarcasm:
