Don't even fault them for giving up the goal with a minute to go. They were totally gassed and hanging on for dear life at that point. Though I'll say despite the lopsided shot totals it didn't really feel or look like Carolina was decidedly outplaying us. They didn't have a ton of quality scoring chances.

Another bigtime snipe by Nico from not the easiest of angles while corralling a bouncing/rolling puck. Bigtime goal. Pucks are finally going in for Zacha as well and Hall continues to be a clutch beastly player.

All we needed was some kind of goaltending and this team was going to find its footing. Just need Gibbons and Johansson to come back.

Steve is a big fan of this team. Homer levels of fandom. You can tell that from his twitter. He will never miss an opportunity to pump this team’s tires.

I think Chico might be the only one on any broadcast crew that loves the Devils more.

You can also tell both broadcast crews are having a lot of fun after the last miserable few years.

Well Chico has long been a shameless homer and we all love him for it and hope he never changes. I love the old ALRIGHT MARTY!! stuff when Brodeur would make some big saves.

Cangelosi is a quality announcer. We're pretty lucky going from Doc to Cangi.

And it feels like just yesterday when Cangy was doing Deb's job while Doc/Chico were doing theirs.

If anyone would have told me the team would have picked up 8 out of the last 8 points with all of the injuries and with the way things were going up until that Boston game, well I would have laughed in their face. I didn’t see this coming. Biggest difference to me is that Kinkaid has found his game and Lack delivered a real quality start in his appearance. It all starts from there. You dont get good goaltending and you’re sunk. Our guys have been good and have given the team a chance in these games. 7 out of 11 since the allstar break with Cory sidelined. Can’t ask for more than that.

And Chico never really wanted to retire. I remember him saying towards the end of his TV run that his sister in law was ill and that he and his wife were going to help in looking after her and that was really the only reason he was going.

thank you

people forget that a team like the devils kind of needs homer announcers, especially considering they're a small market team in a big market

If we were a Canadian team that got lots of coverage, I could totally see Kinkaid and Glen having a segment together on HNIC's After Hours show. Where they interview Keith and Glen back in the hallway near the locker rooms with Scott Oake and Louie DeBrusk. Where they talk about how a fan tweeted at Kinkaid and how it turned his season around.

Wow. Hurricanes coach is salty :

"I thought we had some good looks, had the puck lots, but yeah, one point. We gifted them both of their goals (in regulation) tonight. " -- Hurricanes coach Bill Peters

He really gifted us the last win by starting frickin Darling. Back to back or not, why would you start him with your playoff lives on the line, against a team that they could have tied (or maybe even passed with a win that night?) in points that night?

Their first goal was all luck

Talk about getting no respect. Hope our guys put this on the bulletin board. Nico's goal in particular was a high end play by both Nico and Vats.

I had no clue who the coach of the Hurricanes even was. Bill Peters? I've always sort of defaulted into thinking it was Paul Maurice forever
