OT: New bridge to be named Maurice-Richard?

Richard's family had a talk with those who prompted the idea and have decided they didn't want Maurice Richard's name associated with the bridge. Heard an interview on Arcand featuring Richard's son and he indicated that Richard was a humble man and would they have suggested a bridge in his name during his lifetime, he'd likely have opposed it.

Certainly, there are other ways to honor Richard and the one gaining ground currently is renaming an existing highway that is identified with numbers currently.

What a fail. "Maurice et Richard McDonald", who were the originators of the McDonald's chain. The show ended up replacing a representation of one of the McDonald brothers with a pic of Maurice Richard. What a reach.

Like the important street or freeways are renamed by important Habs players from the past, like Rene levesque Blvd is renamed to jean beliveau blvd. St. Catherine street is renamed ken dryden drive, maissoneuve street will be Patrick Roy street, and then, crappy alley roads will be renamed Rene bourque avenue!
